Summary
Led comprehensive phytochemical analyses and bioactivity assessments of Plumbago zeylanica L., investigating its antibacterial and quorum-sensing inhibitory potential to advance natural product pharmacology.
Highlights
Led comprehensive morphological studies and precise phytochemical screening of *Plumbago zeylanica L.*, identifying plumbagin-rich components and quantifying phenolics, flavonoids, and tannins using standard protocols.
Designed and executed robust antibacterial assays against multiple human pathogenic strains (e.g., *E. coli, S. aureus, V. cholerae*), demonstrating broad-spectrum activity and performing antioxidant assays to evaluate extract efficacy.
Utilized advanced chromatographic techniques, including GC-MS, TLC, and HPLC, for meticulous profiling and quantification of plumbagin and other bioactive compounds in plant extracts.
Investigated quorum-sensing inhibitory activity of plumbagin through biochemical and molecular assays, successfully suppressing biofilm formation, violacein biosynthesis, EPS production, and bacterial motility in *Chromobacterium violaceum* ATCC 12472.
Employed in silico docking and simulation to confirm anti-quorum sensing potential of plumbagin at the molecular level by targeting the CviR protein, validated findings using statistical tools (SPSS, GraphPad, Origin, R).
Authored and co-authored multiple research articles and book chapters, effectively documenting and interpreting complex experimental results for publication and presentation in peer-reviewed journals.
